There blog brings a different aspect into travel with articles on the people, city and country in asia, a great example is the blog on strange cultural habits in China, which to a westerner like me will see as very strange but to a local it would be nothing.

Another example would be the Guide to Taj Mahal and it goes on to explain the different times of day and colours that come with the Tal Mahal, from the pinks, whites and golden colours as the day changes and where to stay nearby.

The blog will add a new and interesting aspect to the blog which I have enjoyed and learnt a lot from.

Exploring New Zealand

When traveling to New Zealand this summer which is from December to March you can see some fantastic views, whether its an urban view with the likes of Mount Eden and One Tree Hill in Auckland, Mount Victoria in Wellington, the top of the Port Hills in Christchurch and Flagstaff Hill in Dunedin.

Other views can be more difficult to get too, but are well worth the effort and these include the views from the summits of Mount Iron in Wanaka and Mount Hikurangi on East Cape. But at the same time theres some views that don’t need your climbing boots like the weird boulders at Moeraki on the Otago Coast and the outrageous Pancake Rocks at Punakaiki.

Other types of sight seeing include paddling a kayak to the rock cravings at Mine Bay in Taupo or walk the streets of Katikati where the intricate murals record the towns history

After these long walks you need a good place to put your feet up and there are some good places in the north and south islands, so if you’re looking for a hotels in Auckland then there’s Elliott Street Classic Apartments which start from as low as NZD 89.

If you're looking for 4 star hotels in Wellington which can represent good value, it can be found here from as low as NZD 110 at Lambton Court Apartment Wellington or maybe you like like a nice hotels in Christchurch then look at Aloha Motel

travelling to South Africe by Road

South Africa has a very good road, rail and air infrastructure comparable to some of the best in the world, but today we are going to touch on the road network and hotels in Cape Town, Johannesburg and Sandton.

I am going run though some of the requirements when driving in South Africa:

You require a driving license must be with you at all times when driving

South Africans drive on the left-hand side of the road.

Built up area speed limits are 60km/hr and with highways upto 120km/hr and most road surfaces in good condition.

Wearing of seat belts by both the driver of a vehicle and all passengers is compulsory. Using hand-held phones while driving is against the law – use a vehicle phone attachment or hands-free kit, if you want to speak on your mobile phone. The law prohibits the use of hand-held phones while driving.

DO NOT drink alcohol and drive in South Africa as it is considered a very serious offence.

Transport in South Africa is geared towards motor vehicles. Our National road networks are well maintained and signposted. Our road infrastructure is excellent, so driving is a viable option, but South Africa is a huge country not easily traversed in a day, so plan your journeys carefully. If you\'re not used to driving long distances, rather break the journey, as fatigue is a major contributing factor in motor vehicle accidents.

As South Africa is rural areas watch out for animals . Be aware that the roads in many rural areas are not fenced, so you could find dogs, chickens, sheep and even horses or cows on the road and of course don’t forget the wild animals too like large antelope crossing the road can also be a hazard in certain areas – watch out for the road signs depicting a leaping antelope, and take it slowly, especially towards evening

A variety of petrol (gas) stations are situated on both main and country roads. Most of them are open 24 hours a day, although some keep shorter hours. However, distances between towns (and therefore between petrol stations) can be considerable, so it is advisable to fill up your tank before it starts giving warning signals. South African petrol stations are not self-help: an attendant will fill the car, check oil and water and tire pressure and, if necessary, clean the windscreen. Credit cards are not accepted for payment of fuel.

So you have traveled by road for the day and now are looking for where to stay overnight, here is a few hotels to help you:

If you're looking for 4 star hotels in Johannesburg which can represent good value, it can be found here from as low as ZAR 490 in Johannesburg situated at 69 DRIFT BOULEVARD MULDERSDRIFT 1747 PRIVATE BAG 1,JOHANNESBURG SOUTH AFRICA.

If you're looking for 4 star hotels in Cape Town which can represent good value, it can be found here from as low as ZAR 325 in Central situated at 1 St Georges Mall City Centre Cape Town 8001 with Fountains Hotel Cape Town.

You may be interested in Hotels in Sandton which you can link the link to find out more.

Attractions in Madrid and Barcelona

Thinking of traveling to Spain, maybe Barcelona or Madrid? There a little peak into what they have to hold. Looking for hotels in Barcelona and here is my favorite two.

If you're looking for 4 star accommodation in Barcelona which can represent good value, it can be found here from as low as EUR 49 in Guell Park Area situated at C/ Putxet, 68-74 08023. Or maybe a nice 3 star hotel called Glories Hotel Barcelona which provides an example of good value in the Barcelona area with rates from only EUR 28 in the Sagrada Familia vicinity, situated at 173 Padilla St.

If your traveling and looking for hotels in Madrid then Tijcal II Hostal Madrid is a 3 star place which provides an example of good value in the Madrid area with rates from only EUR 29 in the Old Quarter vicinity, situated at C / Cruz 26.

You maybe asking where to enjoy, whether it’s a nice wine or night life both cities have it all:

Madrid offers a wide artistic range, influenced by the many styles that have marked the city through the centuries.

Namely the ruins of the ancient Arab wall, to small Gothic-style churches, and early Renaissance constructions, Madrid's development is a showcase for a variety of artistic periods. Madrid owes its name to the Arabic Magerit or "mother of the waters", which was the name given to the fortress in the bank of the Manzanares River, built by the Omayyad from Cordoba, Muhammad (823-886).

Barcelona also boosts a wide range of attractions to with the popular culture also has a presence in this city, which does not forget deeply-rooted traditions, such as the Mercè Festival, or the holiday celebrations in the districts of Gràcia, Sants, or Poblenou, all excellent opportunities to get to know the more festive side of Barcelona.

Tradition and modernity are also responsible for shaping its innovative and imaginative cuisine, which is based on organically grown produce, fresh fish, sausages and olive oil. Home-made pastries, and sparkling wines will round off a merely superficial approach to Barcelona's culinary culture.

So if your looking forHoteles en Barcelona or maybe in Madrid we have it all and some great dining and night life experiences too

donation buttons

I'm sure you have seen the buttons or maybe read the requests, where bloggers ask for donations on their blogs. I am not clear why people like to donate money but i can summarise it to be to benefit themselves by gaining knowledge or value.

Nowadays with blogging so popular theres vast sources to gain your knowledge from and its free most of the time too, oh but remember these a lot of rubbish out there too. I regularly read the content from my fellow bloggers in my blogroll and gain great value from them and yet none ask for donations.

But there is some exceptions to this, with a few well written requests around that are done almost tongue in cheek and with a sense of humour. Just one example would be Rhys's blog The Gospel According To Rhys. After this blog update you will see a small beer icon behind with the followign words.

If you've enjoyed this, why not buy me a beer? If you haven't, why not contribute to my death by alcohol poisoning by buying me a beer?
. He does this well cause he writes in a manor that suits this type of donation, therefore the character of the person is very important when blogging.

Probably the most famous guy for donations was a guy called Jason Kottle who started this blog kottke in 1998 but went full time in 2005 to become professional blogger who raked in $39,000 form donations in a year, ok he had a good following from his blog before he came a full time blogger but thats not bad money. An interesting interview can be found at this link.

Of course there are exceptions to all things , one that i think is great is The attempted bomb attack at Glasgow Airport and a guy called John Smeaton ( a can hear many saying who? if your from the Uk you will know, if not click here Hes the guy who tackled one of the terrorists, so for appreciation theres a campaign to buy John 1000 beers at a local hotel near the airport, now the total is upto 1400 pints at 3 pounds plus a go thats a lot of money.

Donations should only be given to people who add real value to a blog who's respected and liked or done in a fun way and not to any newbie who writes a blog.
